The Latest on Rita and Deborah

Deborah’s Update:

Ladies, it has been a while since we’ve had an interview on our Bloom in Your Winter Season Blog. And there is a reason for that. I had Total Knee Replacement surgery on July 16th, so I am coming up on two months now from surgery date.

I am doing well, but even under the best of circumstances it is a rough recovery. But I am making progress and look forward to getting back posting more wonderful interviews from other Winter Warriors! I really haven’t been doing much other than physical therapy and resting. I’m looking forward to getting back in the swing of things.

I have a couple of exciting events coming up. At the end of September, I will be attending the Enrich Conference for Bible Study Writers. Then on October 10th I will be taping a show with Babbie Mason for her television show “Babbie’s House,” talking about “Bloom in Your Winter Season.”

I would appreciate prayers for continued healing in the coming months. Now let’s turn it over to Rita and see what she has been up to lately.

Rita’s Update:

Hello! The summer months are winding down. Can you believe it? Fall is my favorite season, so with me, that’s okay! In May, I led a lady’s small group in my home using Debbie’s new Devotional/Bible Study “Bloom in Your Winter Season.” How about that! Great sharing and camaraderie among the ladies.

Hubby and I enjoyed two weeks of camping at two Christian family camps we attend. A time of being out in nature and fellowship with friends and good ole’ camp meeting. One of our camps is celebrating 160 years of camp meetings at the same location next year. This is holy ground to us. We so love it there!

My curriculum for Ladies Sunday School class this fall is “The Armor of God,” by Priscilla Shirer. I know this will be a good study as we dig into Scripture.

I am recuperating from toe surgery, praying for success to get me moving again. I must admit I have quite a TBR (to be read) pile to keep me reading, studying and just taking time to pray, breath and count my blessings.

My knitted sock project is nearby. Last week I baked my first loaf of sourdough bread. Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon with two days of getting the dough ready for one loaf of bread! I must say it tasted yummy!

My grandkids are in school with new teachers and new adventures. They are in 5th, 3rd, 1st and Pre-school! Time flies by before we realize it.

Don’t let whatever season of life you are in pass by without looking for God’s blessings in everything. It can be busy or slow, but the blessings are there. Stop and look for them!
